  • Eating smaller and smaller amounts of food just adds to a slower metabolism, making it easier to get more fat and less lean. There is a physical limit to the deprivation of calories that the body can stand before slowing down and conserving energy. 

  • Quickie diets leave your body "burned out" because you've deprived it of the fuel you need to be energetic. If you exercise a starving body, it simply compounds the problem. Since exercise is what builds lean tissue and burns fat, your diet plan should include enough calories, carbohydrates, fats, and protein to fuel your exercise or you will simply become a fatter person who has lost a few pounds.
