How to Get the Most From a Low Calorie Diet
We all want to
look our best, and for many of us that means being slimmer than we
are right now.

Looking great at class reunions, family weddings, or even parties by
the pool are strong motivators for quick weight
loss. Quite often it’s these special occasions that entice us to try
to shed away as many pounds as possible in the least amount of time.
But unfortunately there’s a problem with that thinking!
So
before putting on that new outfit (or bathing suit) for your next
special occasion, here’s a great strategy for losing weight and
looking great. And it’s a strategy that will make sure you won’t rob your
body of all its muscle in the process.
First, don’t
cut out too many of your calories. Many people think that dropping
their calories to 800 or so each day is the answer, but they
couldn’t be more wrong. With so few calories you body starts to
preserve its fat. And more than likely the weight you drop will
come from water or muscle loss.
You need to
realize that on a crash (low calorie) diet, each pound you lose too
quickly generally contains more lean tissue and less body fat, and
you want to keep those parts around. Plus, crash dieting will slow
your weight loss down, as you won’t have enough food to fuel
your body, and your body will compensate by lowering its metabolism
and burn calories much slower.
After all,
don’t you want to feel as good as you look? That’s why it’s
important to remember that when you eat too few calories, you’ll not
only burn less fat, but end up with less energy too.
A steady diet
of moderate calories is a better way to
preserve your
hard earned muscle, while getting enough energy to burn more fat.
When you lose
body fat at a moderate pace, you'll maintain your strength and
stamina as well as your healthy glow. Healthy, well-nourished bodies
look better, so rather than slashing too many calories, just take it
slow and diet smarter.
There is a far
better way to approach weight loss than crash dieting.
